King Salman calls for unification to solve problems facing Muslim nation

Makkah - 05 Jul 2016

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has called on all Muslim nations to unify and work together so as to solve problems facing the Muslim people and defend their values and interests.
This came in a speech delivered by the Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Adel bin Zaid Altoraifi
Tuesday on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr which falls on Wednesday. The major challenge facing the Muslim nation is how to protect "our youth, the real wealth, from risks surrounding them like extremism and deviant calls which push them to commit odd acts and practices", the King said.
"Such acts run counter to teachings of Islam and principles of Muslim societies," he added.
He stressed Saudi Arabia's resolve to hit with an iron fist those who seek to target youth, indicating that the country is one cohesive unit in its efforts and policies aiming to combat the deviant thought and conduct.
He finally congratulated the Muslim nation on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

Following is the text of the speech:

"In the name of God, most gracious, most merciful
Thanks to God Almighty and prayer and peace be upon Prophet Mohammed bin Abdullah, his family and all of his companions
Dear brothers and sisters in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
My dear brother Muslims everywhere
Alsalamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatu Allahi Wa Barakatu (peace, blessings and mercy of God be upon all of you)
I wish you happy new year and appeal to Allah Almighty to accept our fasting, worshipping and good deeds,
Dear brothers,
We thank God Almighty to have graced us with the divine religion of Islam, the religion of moderation, mediation, amicability and peace. We also thank Him to have enabled the Umrah performers who made their way to the Grand mosque (in Makkah) and/or visitors who made their way to the prophet's mosque (in Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah) to easily and peacefully perform their rituals and to have enabled us to complete the fasting and worshipping of the blessed month of Ramadan. Furthermore, we thank Him to have honored us to serve of the two holy mosques and their worshippers. We thank Him, also, for the grace of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr as a demonstration of solidarity, kindness and sympathy among the sons (and daughters) of the Islamic nation, an expression of their unity despite different places and languages, appealing to Allah Almighty to complete our jubilance by clearing out the clouds of dispute, difference and sedition from over (the heads) of the Islamic nation and discarding its plight and pains.
My brother Muslims,
The difference and sedition witnessed in the Islamic world today, necessitates on all of us to exert the utmost effort to unify our word and rank and work together to solve the problems of the Islamic nation and reach victory for its issues. However, the most biggest obstacle and challenge facing our Islamic natgion is how to keep its youths, the real wealth and hope of future, away from the dangers facing them, particularly extremism and violence and distance them from masterminds of deluting and misleading ideas which force them to behave oddly, strange and extraordinary contradicing nature, the principles of our Islamic religion and the pillars and values of our Islamic societies. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is determined, God willing, to beat with an iron fist who ever target misleading the minds and ideas of our youths. The society should be aware that it is partner of the State in its fight against this deviated thought as we, all of us, follow the instructions of our Islamic religion which bars bloodshed and embargoes violation of public money, noting our position in the heart of the Islamic world, our graced role of serving Islam and support for Muslims all over the world, particularly their legitimate issues, led by the Palestinian cause.
My borthers and sisters,
On the eve of blessed Eid Al-Fitry, I call upon all of you to remain optimistic and hopeful of a bright and better near future, thanking God Almighty to have graced us of numerous seen and unseen blessings. We appeal to Him to lead us to good deeds and reforms, preserve our country and all Mulsim countries from harms and evils, bestow mercy upon the souls of our martyrs who sacrificed themselves for the sake of their religion and nation, and mercy upon the souls of all dead Muslims. And happy new year.
Wa Alsalamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatu Allahi Wa Barakatu.
