The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states strongly condemned the suicide bombings near the Prophet’s Grand Mosque - Al-Masjid an-Nabawi - in Madinah, in the Governorate of Al-Qatif and the City of Jeddah, which left four police officers dead and several others injured as they were breaking their fasting.

GCC Secretary-General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani denounced the deadly crimes which contravene all human and ethical values and show the urgency of mustering all efforts to root out the scourge of terrorism and protect societies.

He underlined the unwavering stance of all GCC states in support of all the measures taken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to defend its security and stability and protect pilgrims on visit to the holy shrines.

Dr. Al-Zayani expressed full confidence in the ability and competence of the Saudi security agencies to unlock the terrorist crimes and extended condolences to the bereaved families, the Saudi Government and people, wishing the injured prompt recovery.
